ONE YEAR ON…
Zambeel Dramatic Readings presented a second reading of
NAZAARA DARMIYAAN HAI
Quratul Ain Hyder can easily be described as one of the most influential writers of the latter part of the twentieth century. An article in the London-based Times Literary Supplement compared her stature with writers such as Milan Kundera and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. **
Nazaara Darmiyaan Hai is a deftly woven tale that addresses human emotions of love and betrayal. Set in Bombay, the story gives us an insight into the lives of the protagonists Khurshid Aalam, Almaas Begum and the young and spirited Parsi girl Peroja Dastoor through the eyes of the housemaid Tara Bai.
The evening began with a short introduction on the author Quratulain Hyder, titled NAZAR SE NAZAARAY TAK, by fiction-writer and critic Asif Farrukhi.
This production is further enriched by an original score for the soundtrack by Musadiq Sanwal.
